What is the Race Day Schedule?

The day kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with the 7 age group categories, including an added age group in 2007 of 14 and under, then; 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+, The Dog Mile, the Family Mile, and the Elite Miles.  All events start at approximately 10 minute intervals, except for a 20 minute interval between the Family Fun Mile and the Elite Miles allowing all runners/walkers to be off the course prior to the Elite events.   Note the change of schedule and events in 2007:  The law enforcement mile has been omitted, and the Dog Mile has been moved from the First event to prior to the Family Mile.  Allow some flexibility in the event that your event starts slightly off this described schedule.

Can I register for two events?

Yes you can.  You need only pay one entry fee, the greater of the two registration fees.  For example someone entering the Family Fun Mile and another event would pay the higher amount and would still be officially entered to run both.

Is there Race Day Registration?

Yes, at the starting line, at Pedregosa and State Street .

Are Official Results available for the Family Fun Event?

No.  The event will be timed, and a finish clock will be visible at the Finish Line, but this is a non-competitive event for which official results will not be available.  Medals will be given to each child who crosses the finish line.

What is the Master’s Elite Race?

The Master’s Elite Race is a race offering a added degree of competition to the runner over 40 who wishes to qualify for prize money.  ($100, $75 and $50)  Times and results are Age Graded.  For information about your ranking given age grading go to:  www.howardgrubb.co.uk/athletics/wavalookup.html

Is there a qualifying time for the Elite Mile?

There is no qualifying time for the Master’s Elite Mile, there is a qualifying time for the Open Elite 4:30 for men and 5:30 for women.  Runners are only eligible for prize money if they run better than qualifying time.

Is the Course marked?

Yes.  There are quarter mile markers with timers calling split times.
